Bayi was founded in early 2016 as a Donghua subtitling project. Initially a solo effort, it quickly gained traction, becoming the largest project of its kind. Not long after, our translation quality caught the attention of Chinese media giant Tencent, and Bayi LLC was officially established in May 2017.

Since then, we've partnered with industry leaders like China Literature and Bilibili to adapt the best of East Asian media for audiences around the globe, and the Bayi team is now home to language and technical experts from over 25 different countries.
